Life according to a yellow homo scientist

The moons of our solar system.
Mars’ (Ares in Greek mythology) moons are named after Ares’s sons.
Jupiter’s (Zeus in Greek mythology) largest moons are named after Zeus’s lovers. (Ganymede was a boy, mind you!)
Saturn’s (Cronus in Greek mythology) moons are named after Titans. Cronus was the leader of the titans, and he was the father of Zeus.
Uranus’ moons uniquely are not named after figures in Greek mythology. Instead, they are named after characters in the works of William Shakespeare and Alexander Pope. Uranus was the father of Cronus.
Neptune’s (Poseidon in Greek mythology) moons are named after other aquatic deities.
Finally, Pluto’s (Hades in Greek mythology, though not a planet any longer) moon Charon is the name of his ferryman who brings you across the rivers Styx and Acheron to the Underworld.
I love the connection between Greek/Roman mythology and the names in our solar system.
